Medical Biller Eye Care Specialists is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing ophthalmology and optometry practice. The ideal candidate will be organized, accurate, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities:Submit accurate and timely insurance claimsReview claims for accuracy and proper codingFollow up on unpaid, rejected, and denied claimsInvestigate and resolve billing and payment discrepanciesPost insurance and patient paymentsWork insurance accounts receivable and aging reportsVerify insurance eligibility and benefits when neededObtain prior authorizations and referrals as assignedCommunicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursementAnswer patient questions and assist with billing concernsMaintain accurate documentation and protect patient confidentialityCollaborate with providers and staff to resolve coding and documentation issuesQualifications:Previous medical billing experience is preferredOphthalmology or optometry billing experience is a plusKnowledge of CPT, ICD-10, insurance claims, denials, and appealsFamiliarity with Medicare and commercial insurance plansStrong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skillsProfessional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and work independentlyExperience with electronic medical records and practice-management systems is preferredBenefits for Full-Time Employees:10 paid holidays10 days of PTO after a 90-day probationary periodMedical, life, and short-term disability insuranceDental plan reimbursement401(k) eligibility after one year of employmentEmployee discounts on eye exams, eyewear, contact lenses, LASIK/PRK, cataract surgery, cosmetic services, and eye care treatmentsBenefits for Part-Time Employees:Flexible schedulingEmployee discounts on eye exams, eyewear, contact lenses, LASIK/PRK, cataract surgery, cosmetic services, and eye care treatmentsTo apply, please submit your résumé.
