Job Title: Adult & Child Psychiatrist

Pay Rate: $320/hour
Hours: 12 16 hours/week
Start Date: November/December 2026 or January 1, 2027, depending on credentialing

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Adult & Child Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing mental health services for patients with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and Mental Status Examinations.

• Diagnose and provide medication management, including controlled substances.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

• Review laboratory results and other diagnostic information.

• Complete required medical records and detailed clinical documentation.

• Collaborate with medical directors, nurses, clinicians, and case managers.

• Provide guidance and consultation to clinical staff.

• Counsel patients, families, and caregivers regarding mental health and developmental disabilities.

• Participate in quality improvement and other clinical programs.

Patient Population

Patients range from age 5 through adults. Common conditions include anxiety disorders, depression, intermittent explosive disorder, disruptive mood disorders, OCD, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. A small portion of the work may involve JV-220 forms.

Schedule

• 12 16 hours per week.

• Monday Friday, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

• Flexible schedule can be negotiated.

• Examples: 9 AM 1 PM three days/week or 9 AM 3 PM two days/week.

• Must work in person at least 1 day per week.

• No fully remote option.

• Approximately 6 10 patients may be seen during a 7.5-hour day, depending on evaluations and follow-ups.

Candidate Requirements

• Active California Medical License.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult and/or Child Psychiatry.

• Board certification/eligibility through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology preferred.

• Board certification/eligibility obtained within 5 years of residency.

• Must be authorized to prescribe controlled substances.

• Eligible for Medicare/Medi-Cal certification.

• Flu vaccination required, with medical/religious exemption accepted.

• COVID vaccination required, with medical/religious exemption accepted.

• Must be comfortable treating both children and adults.

• Must be willing to work onsite.

• Must enter hours through the Vemsta platform.

Local Candidate Requirement

Local/drive-in candidates only. Candidates must live within 40 miles of ZIP code 95128. Candidates more than 40 miles away or fly-in candidates will not be considered. Facility does not cover travel or mileage expenses.

Credentialing

Credentialing is expected to take approximately 30 40 days.

Compensation

$310/hour. Candidates requesting a higher rate may still be submitted with a note indicating the requested rate.

This is a long-term opportunity with potential for additional hours in the future.
